3. Overnight Lorry Parking at the Ports
 

Port of Tyne (North Shields)

Parking in the terminal compound is not allowed overnight. Any overnight parking will only be authorised in the short stay car parking area if the driver disembarking the ferry has run out of time or if the driver is waiting for the next ferry.

Port of Tyne ( South Shields)

Parking ovenight is not allowed on the site.

Port of Sunderland

Parking allowed in parts of the port (see security).

4. When to use the A19 or A1 as an approach Route?
  In general it would be appropriate to use the A1 if the deliveries are to be on the west side of Tyne and Wear. When delivering to the east side the A19 is generally the most appropriate route. There are additional costs to the A19 route across the River Tyne of a toll of £1.20 for HGV vehicles through the Tyne Tunnel.
